MINISTRY TEAMS
The Hills Church exists because its people serve one another. Following the call and example of Jesus, every week volunteers come not to be served, but to serve. We would love to help you find your place. Below are some of the ways you can get involved in the nuts and bolts of community life at The Hills Church.
>> Current Needs: Worship - singers and musicians. Logistics - tear down (after service). Digital Media - social media content creation.
LOGISTICS TEAM: The Logistics team transforms the Hallett Academy into a place where The Hills can gather for Sunday worship and help us leave the place looking even better than when we arrived. Since we are a "portable" church (meaning we have a trailer full of stuff that needs to be setup and taken down each week), this team is absolutely vital. Sundays would not be possible without them! This team comes early and stays after to make sure everything is in its place. No experience required, just a heart to serve and the ability to wake up a little early. :) Then stay for 30 minutes to help us take everything down. Commitment: once a month – arrive by 7:30 a.m. to help with setup OR stay after service to help with tear down until 12:10.
WORSHIP ARTS TEAM: The Worship Arts Team is a place for just about any type of creative. From musicians to photographers to film makers or those who just like being a part of the creative process we believe that the talents and gifts God has given us can and should be used to build His kingdom. Commitment: varies depending on role but typically once a month with a practice the week prior to serving.
TECHNICAL ARTS TEAM: The Technical Arts Team makes sure that all things audio, visual, and video are running smoothly. This includes setting up and running the audio for the service, making sure lyrics and other visuals flow with the service, and ensuring that the live-stream video transitions run smoothly. We’ll teach you how to operate our software and hardware, but some general tech knowledge would be helpful. Commitment: once every 6 weeks – arrival time varies depending on assignment - 8:00 a.m. for audio and 9:15 a.m. for visual.
HOSPITALITY TEAM: “Hospitality,” as Henri Nouwen writes, “is not to change people, but to offer them space where change can take place.” The purpose of the hospitality team is to create a welcoming environment where real change can take place and the presence of God’s Kingdom is felt. Our greeters and ushers ensure people coming in the doors of The Hills Church feel welcome and valued. Sunday mornings can be early (even at 10:00am) so this team makes sure the coffee is always hot and ready! This team prepares coffee & refreshments and welcomes guests. Some team members will also help with communion. Commitment: once a month – arrive by 9:15 a.m.
KIDS TEAM: We believe that children are an integral part of our church body and we are committed to coming alongside parents in the raising of them. Together, our goal is to see kids come to know who Christ is, experience how He works in their lives, and integrate them as important and valuable members in the life of the church. We need volunteers in each of our three classroom - 6mo to 2yrs, 3-5yrs, Kinder-5th. Commitment: once every 6 weeks.
DIGITAL MEDIA TEAM: The Hills website or social media pages may be the first and only way some folks get to worship with us and learn more about our church mission and community. With this in mind and the reality that church moving forward will probably operate in a hybrid in-person/online model, the goal of the Digital Media Team is to foster a sense of community and connection across the Hills’ digital media platforms. Experience with social media platforms is helpful. Commitment: varies depending on role (from 1-2 hours per week).
